The disintegration of the … world order (JPost Jan12)

I seldom read anything by Rolef; her gossip about various so-called celebrities doesn’t interest. However her column attacking Trump was outrageous. The foundation of the ‘world order’ she loves so much is the UN. The UN, founded in hope after WWII, was useless from its beginning and subsequently has deteriorated. It failed miserably to deal with the slaughter of the Tutsis in the 1994 Rwandan genocide, or with any of the other situations of mass slaughter that have occurred before or since. Now it doesn’t just fail to do anything marginally useful, it actively supports terrorism. UNRWA a UN organ in Gaza ran schools for Palestinians that preached hatred of Jews and encouraged terrorism. Not only that but it allowed the Hamas terrorist organization to operate a sophisticated control center under the UNRWA headquarters! Furthermore some of its employees doubled as terrorists! The ‘world order’ was always a myth. If Trump’s action makes it obvious that the emperor has no clothes that is a good thing.

Removing Maduro from Venezuela was a stroke of genius; in one day, Trump brought an evil man to justice, demonstrated to the world that there was a price for evil, made all the other bad guys shiver, and may eventually restore Venezuelans to a decent life. Naturally Rolef is reluctant to give Trump any credit for the daring successful exploit, but implies that getting control of Venezuelan oil was the real reason for the action. She then goes on to criticize Trump for his expressed intention to take over Greenland, something which is unlikely to happen. In fact the US already has an army base in Greenland and it will probably be possible to expand it if necessary to control maritime traffic in the Arctic. However Trump being Trump, has to huff and puff first to ensure that the final deal is to his liking. He isn’t going to invade Greenland. She finally gets in a dig at Netanyahu for possibly leaving the World Health Organization and ignoring the climate change scam; two positive steps. The WHO, like all UN sponsored initiatives is at best useless, and often, as was proven during the Coved scare, completely wrong. Climate change is happening slowly and may or may not be due to an increase in CO2 in the atmosphere, but the steps that have been taken, especially in Europe to reduce emissions have been disastrous, and have merely resulted in transferring manufacturing from the West to China and reduced the West’s standard of living.  In fact, the positive effects of CO2 probably outweigh the negatives and in any case Israel can do nothing of significance about it.
