A super article by David Weinberg, both informative, and optimistic. A cathartic relief from the deluge of pessimism and negative publicity we have been reading and hearing since the truce was announced; including the wild claims by the Iranian clique that is currently in charge in Iran; the boasts of victory that they are proclaiming amidst the ruins of Iran’s hegemony.
It is essential that maximum pressure must be maintained on what is left of the regime. Initially Israel and America must stop bemoaning our so-called failures in the war. In fact there were many amazing successes; Iran’s military now is clearly a paper tiger, their economy is on life support. The opposition in both Israel and the US should show some patriotism and stop using the fact that the job is not yet complete as a stick for beating Netanyahu and Trump. Several steps can and must be taken to ensure that he regime collapses sooner rather than later.
The Saudis must start building additional pipelines to the Red Sea, lines with sufficient capacity to get all Gulf oil to market, bypassing the Straits of Hormuz. Even announcing this project will weaken the regime. Once complete it will remove the possibility of Iran ever threatening the world’s supply of oil. It’s worth doing even if in the end it’s never activated; it’s like buying insurance which hopefully you never have to use. The US could help to finance the project.
All sanctions on Iran must be maintained until the regime falls.
Revolution by the long suffering populace of Iran must be encouraged. The Mossad has the contacts to initiate resistance groups. Communication, both internally and with the free world must be established. Money and small arms can be smuggled into Iran to these groups.
We must continue to dismember Hezbollah; if necessary we can occupy Southern Lebanon to drive the point home.
Finally we then wait for the regime to collapse; probably within months.
