The world loves dead Jews; live ones not so much; but Jews who are successful warriors are beyond comprehension. Gill Troy opens his excellent article by quoting the New York Times. “Israel overpowered its foes, but deepened its isolation”. Given the choice I prefer isolation to being murdered.
Troy clearly emphasizes these facts. Hence the desperate attempts by the armchair critics to paint the war in Gaza in the worst possible way. We were accused of genocide before we even invaded Gaza days after the Gazan army invaded our country, killing any civilians they could find, raping women and burning babies in ovens, and then grabbing a few survivors to hold as hostages. Subsequently we were accused of every atrocity in the book. False claims announced by Hamas, however unlikely, were treated as truth by western media which never admitted their errors when proven wrong.
Troy points out these and other facts. In spite of the obvious justice of our cause, and the even more obvious lack of alternatives, the Western media has convinced the majority of people in the West that Israel is brutally committing genocide. As usual what our enemies accuse us of are the crimes of which they are guilty.
